FacilitiesThe Department of Theatre is housed in the Dalhousie Arts Centre in the
heart of the Studley Campus.
We have two well-equipped performance
spaces that are used for all DalTheatre productions and are available to general
public when available.
The Sir James Dunn Theatre is a 220 seat proscenium arch theatre equipped with a double purchase fly system, lighting and sound systems. The David Mack. Murray Studio is a 80- 100 seat black box studio with lighting and sound systems. Our facilities also include an acting studio, carpentry and prop shops, a costume studio (housed in City Centre Atlantic) , and a design studio.
The Department of Theatre is a training
institution therefore its spaces are staffed with technical students
enrolled at the university.
